No. Sorry. Now I see, it is the same problem as before : I cannot see your header complete. It is partly hidden by your sidebar. So normally I see "Master of the Univer".

Last time I saw "Master of the Universe's", which I thought was an erroneous analogy to a "a car of Peter's" genitive.

But now, today, I see "Master of the Universe's W" with "W" meaning probably "web".

Maybe your header is for large-screen monitors.

I am happy to see that you are here again, because last time I looked Wordpress said that "the authors have decided to delete this blog", and so I knew that you were having a hard time.

Now I was wondering what to think of that new 's in the header, considering that all-American dilemma of "its", "it's" and recently, as a new way out, "its'". Did you put in that 's at your boy's suggestion?

I am really glad you are back, because all this time I would have liked to see how the US dollar circus would be reflected on your blog.

Jeff, this seems to be the catch-all thread, so I thought I'd share a link to a site I found. It's not on your blogroll and I think you'll enjoy it.

Hi Jeff-
I just found your blog via your comment on Snickollet (I lost my husband 10 months ago unexpectedly). I had no history of mental illness or depression, but definitely still found myself thinking suicidal thoughts. I did know, however, that I would never, ever act on them. If you find yourself thinking of HOW you would actively kill yourself, PLEASE tell someone and get some help. If you are just hoping to not wake up, things along those lines, know that these thoughts are (unfortunately) fairly common with widow(er)hood. I hope that this is at least marginally helpful for you.

I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. I wish your son the best at Yale- the years we spent in New Haven were some of my favorite.

Hello Jeff,
I've gone quite far back in your postings. My heartfelt sympathies for your loss of your wife. It's terrible when someone young dies, someone so very close to you.
I'm just about a year away from my Mother's death. I know it's very different because she was elderly (95), but I had been looking after her in her last 12 declining years. It was a privilege to be there for her but so difficult.

I don't understand your trading comments but I am interested in your art collection comments so I find that a curious mis. I have enjoyed seeing what you have posted from your art collection. You have a fine appreciation of drawing and it's interesting to see your riskier choices (visually speaking) of elliptically spare drawings (the Toulouse Lautrec, the Matisse). It was hard to tell which artist painted your recent Impressionist acquisition because the picture on the post was too small to see well. Ditto for the two drawings in pencil or graphite, looking a lot more classic.
I shall check back in to your post one of these days.

Thx for responding Jeff.....If I may be so bold as to offer my 2 cents worth on the harsher side of life on planet earth, I can speak highly (personally and professionally) of the benefits of weight lifting. It is often the trick to up testosterone and adrenalin enough to help the mind courageously forge a way forwards, towards a distant light, no matter how faint....especiallt when you accentuate pushing away rather than pulling towards....(you'll get what I mean) Rolfing and Reiki have commercialized this stuff but it is still fundamental truth.

The real corker is to find some psychic 'weight lifters' to hang out with. Few and far between. But don't underestimate...gets your head, heart and gut sorted out quicker than most things.

Thanks for stopping by my little quadrant of cyberspace, and thanks for the links.
Hope you can get out and catch a few waves in the future.
